I don’t know photography  . I don’t know to that extent that I can understand or even guess what is a fine art photography. I have been a silent admirer of Agnimirh Basu’s work and when he planned a workshop, I registered myself . The thought was to experience something new and expand my horizon.

It was a two day workshop. I did not know what was planned for the day since I had missed the previous day . Met Agnimirh Basu at the venue – who with his deep thoughtful eyes, explained what was coming up. As this is a post where I wanna post most of my pictures and my hand at Fine Art Photography, I intend to keep on sharing the story of the day subsequently .

For the time being let me tell you about Dristi . She is a 2nd year English Lit student who wants to complete her PHD in English . She is an actor who is presently working in a horror flick and only models when it comes to Agnimirh’s workshop . She loves dancing, painting and singing and has a keen interest in horses. She wants to learn horse riding and some day she wants to own a horse too. The scary part is that she wants to own a gun too and keep it with herself at all times.

Dristi the butterfly with gifts around

Her first appearance for her performance was as an elusive little pretty butterfly who played with dream bubbles and made us dream too. With gifts all around her waist, she floated around the stage. Changing lights, elusive atmosphere and her mischief teased you . With a hint of innocence in her eyes, she invited you to come and fall in love.

the subtle invitation – the call

We kept dreaming about her till such time she came back as a firefly! Little did we understand that the bright colourful gifts around her waist were only symbols of a firefly. Like a firefly, she emit light from lower abdomen- attracting their preys or mates and she came back. In a half lit auditorium, she appeared from no where in a polka dotted and zebra striped dress with her partner. Together they performed an act. An act to remember . An act which symbolized  passion , love and sensuality . Her earlier innocent eyes were now with the looks of an invitation but also reminded you somewhere that she can be dangerous too. It was dangerously inviting but also warned that either you can be a mate or a prey.

Thanks Dristi for taking us through these two phases. Wishing all the best for all your acting career and you are equally attractive as a butterfly as well as a firefly .
